I
grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. This is where I began dancing. Yes, there is
Belly Dance in Iowa!! I began studying Middle Eastern Dance in 2000. In
2001 I was invited to join a professional dance troupe in my area. This troupe
was
Mirage Middle Eastern Dance
Troupe.
As a member of this troupe I had the opportunity to perform in
many different venues. I performed with the troupe at town festivals, art
centers, workshops, restaurants, and many others. I was a member of this
troupe until October of 2003 at which point I moved to Reston, Virginia. While
in Virginia I performed independently for birthdays, baby showers, etc. In July of 2004 I moved back to Iowa
and rejoined Mirage. In August of 2005 I left Mirage to continue to dance
independently.
